Artist Statement
I am a video, installation guerrilla artist. I am interested in systems that structure social behaviour. I touch on aspects of feminine identity and express the need for freedom, physically, mentally and socially. My films portray themes such as science and nature, which are reflected in the mélange of cross-faded shots.
With my video work I am looking at the relationship between the real and fantasy, my most current films all have strong female figures and refer to the western tradition of holding nature and culture in binary opposition and coupling women with nature and men with culture. They are idealistic and layered imagery gives them a sense of the virtual in proximity with what you’ve forgotten, they touch the unconscious.
In my spare time I hit the streets with my activism projects. Bringing awareness to the people and challenging the corporations in the urban environment.
